Trinity Trails

Hello! My name is Ella, and I just wrapped up my second year of English Literature and Irish Language here at Trinity. My favourite stop on the tour is the Graduates Memorial Building, which is a hub of student life on campus. This is where I feel the most a part of Trinity’s rich history, as I have an opportunity to be part of the same student societies as Oscar Wilde, Bram Stoker, and Sally Rooney.

I just finished my final year in my Business and Economics undergraduate degree. I was a Chapel Scholar for two years in Trinity College Chapel, singing tenor and bass. I also sing with Trinity College Singers. Additionally, I’ve played socials rugby with Trinity for 5 years. I have truly loved my time at Trinity and can’t wait to share my experiences on tours!

Hey guys, welcome to Trinity College! My name is Joe and I’m a Final Year English Literature student here at the College. My favourite thing about being a Tour Guide is getting to share the amazing stories that come with Trinity’s history. From monks to murders to modern art, there are so many amazing things to share with our visitors!

Welcome to Trinity, my name is Jack and I’m a first year studying for a degree in Classical Languages. The best thing about being a Trinity student is having the chance to study at a historic and world famous campus in my own city. For me, the most interesting part of the tour is being able to point out Ancient Greek influences around Trinity, from Greek writing in Front Square to illustrations of ancient stories at the Museum Building.

Hi! My name is Sinéad (“Shin-ade”) and I have just finished my second year of chemical sciences at Trinity College Dublin. I love being a tour guide because I get to hear stories from all over the world while telling people about Irish culture and introducing them to my life as a student on campus, as well as the rich history that Trinity has to offer. People come from all over the world to see Trinity College and I get the honour of showing them around!

Hey! My name is Devin and I’m a 2nd year medical student here in Trinity. Being a tour guide gives me the incredible opportunity to meet so many interesting people from all around the world and share with them an important part of Irish history and culture. Meeting friendly tourists always makes my day and it’s a pleasure to be able to introduce them to our beautiful campus and all that it entails.
Trinity’s cricket pitch is one of my favourite locations on campus. It is not only a great place to watch various sports (cricket, football, even frisbee!) but also to observe student life first hand as everyone passes you by in a rush to their classes.

Hi my name is James, I am a fourth year European studies student. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time so far in trinity due to the people and the atmosphere. Being part of the trinity trails team allows me to meet new people from diverse backgrounds and cultures and to share with them the history of our ancient campus. Speaking in different languages and sharing common interests with visitors is always the highlight. Without a shadow of a doubt my favourite building on campus is the Rubrics which is understated and charming beside the other remarkable structures of Front square. Hi I’m Katie. I’m an American studying law here at Trinity. My favorite part of the tour is the Museum building and all of the stories around it! I love the culture of Trinity it feels like it’s own little slice of Dublin and is such a vibrant international community.

Hi, my name is Hazel and I’m an English Literature and French student here at Trinity College. My favourite thing about being a tour guide is definitely getting to meet new people from around the world and learn what draws them to Ireland, and to Trinity!

My favourite spot on campus is definitely the Museum Building, it’s unlike any other building on campus and has so many wonderful stories surrounding it to dive into!

Hi! I’m James and I’ve just finished my first year studying Law here in Trinity. A great part of studying on Trinity campus is the central location right in the city centre. My favourite part of the tour is definitely the Museum Building. It has a distinct emphasis on Irish flora and fauna despite its Italianate design and one of the most unique interiors in the country.

Hi! My name is Luca. I am a History student here in Trinity College Dublin. Since 1592, Trinity has been at the centre of a wide period in Irish history and has witnessed some of the country’s most influential figures pass through its gates. As such, I try to use the history of Trinity as a platform for introducing visitors on my tours to the wider history of Ireland as a whole. My favourite site on the campus would have be the Front Square itself, the very spot where Trinity’s history began all the way back in 1592.

My name is Paul McGee and I have been part of the Trinity Trails team since May 2022. I am a qualified National and Local tour guide and a member of the Approved Tourist Guides of Ireland (ATGI). I am a graduate of the Trinity Business School where I studied Creative Thinking, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (CTIE). My favourite part of the campus tour is meeting each different group and sharing the history of Trinity College with them. Each group of guests is different, and the variety is always enjoyable and interesting.

Hi, my name is Eoin, and I study Philosophy, Political Science, Economics and Sociology here in Trinity College.
My favourite part of the tour is the Graduates’ Memorial Building (GMB), a building run by Student Societies and houses some of the most important student stories from throughout the history of the college. I can’t wait to tell you about it!

Hi my name’s Harry and I study Drama and Theatre Studies here at Trinity College, my favourite part of the tour is our own Drama Building. Here I’ll get the chance to tell you all about one of Ireland’s most famous playwright’s and the theatre’s namesake; Samuel Beckett.

Hi, my name is Anne. Since retiring as an English teacher I have developed a keen interest in heritage and archeology. A Tour Guiding course fed that passion and enabled me to appreciate the wonder and beauty behind every stone wall and monument. I have an M.A. in Modern English Literature, and in my spare time I do some creative writing and teach English Literature to adults.

I think my favourite part of the campus tour is just walking along the cobblestones among the splendid and varied buildings, simply contemplating how so many different-famous and infamous- people inhabited this campus once, not to mention the Augustinian monks all those years hence!
